Project Menaiktaraf Jambatan Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah is scheduled for completion within a 42-month timeframe. Spanning approximately 2 kilometres, this project focuses on enhancing the existing roadway crossing over the River Pahang.
Central to the project is the construction of a new bridge adjacent to the existing service bridge, positioned approximately 10 meters apart. The scope of work for the new bridge spans from CH 825 to CH 1450, encompassing substructure elements such as bored piles, pile caps, and columns. The superstructure will comprise cast-in-situ box girders and twin rib beams.
At-grade construction activities spans the entire project area, encompassing earthworks, geotechnical undertakings, and pavement works. The existing roadway will also undergo upgrades to accommodate two lanes of traffic in both directions.
Notably, this project includes the construction of the longest Balanced Cantilever Bridge in West Malaysia which underscores the engineering complexity and innovation involved.
